Publishing - My publishing experience includes a four-year stint as an associate editor at Baker & Taylor Books, as well as freelance and contract work for a variety of publishing clients. I have written catalog copy and served as the managing editor of two custom textbooks produced at Georgia State University and a contributing writer to a custom textbook at Georgia Institute of Technology.
Writing and Communication Teacher - I have worked for more than ten years as a teacher of writing and communication, on both the high school and college level, most recently as an instructor at Georgia Institute of Technology.
Journalism - As a freelance journalist and features writer, I covered arts and entertainment, restaurant, and travel for several New Jersey newspapers and magazines. I also served as Senior Editor for Country Inns and Bed & Breakfast magazine.
Grant writing - My grant writing raised $90,000 to create a successful after-school program in Camden, New Jersey.
Academic - Though I'm new to academic writing, I have already published several encyclopedia articles, and articles authored by me will soon appear in the Journal of the Abraham Lincoln Association and the journal Native South.
Creative - My experimental short fiction has been published in several prestigious journals. I have two unpublished collections of short fiction.
